You like to stay active. Sitting strapped into a car seat clearly isn't your jam — I get that. We try to keep it fun with music, dancing, games. Doesn't always do the trick. Lately you've been asking us to open the window. You like to feel the air, and honestly, you stop screaming when we do it. So we gladly roll them down.
We were on the way to get your brother from school, windows down, music on. No tears in the backseat — I call that a win. Looking back, I should have questioned the silence.
Then I heard you singing, “bye bye shoes, bye bye. Bye bye shoes, bye bye.” I looked back after hearing it twice and realized you were throwing your freaking shoes out the window. Shoes we'd JUST bought. Water shoes we needed the very next day for school.
After we picked up your brother, I had to go searching the bushes along a busy road for those shoes. In case you're wondering — I did find them. Do you think we put the windows down after that? Hard pass.
